Are you one of those people who like reading books? Is the quite and peaceful environment of a library full with culture the favourite of yours, too? Then, what about meeting with the oldest library on earth? This ancient library established in 859 is located in Fez city of Morocco. It was founded by Fatima Al-Fihri who wanted everybody to enjoy her books that she inherited from her merchant father. It has been developed and extended since then. Having been closed for maintenance of the historical building and the books affected by the intensely hot and humid climate of the country in 2012, Al-Qarawiyyin Library has opened its doors again with the extensions suiting the 21st Century. Housing a collecting of more than 4000 rare books and ancient manuscripts, the library is worth seeing with its interesting architecture as well. What do you say? Morocco is not too far away, is it?
